Hailed as one of the “Great Lakes of Texas,” Possum Kingdom Lake was rated by the Texas Almanac as the best and clearest man-made lake in the state. Possum Kingdom Lake covers approximately 18,000 acres and is 145 feet at it maximum depth, making it one of the state’s deepest lakes.
With over 300 beautiful miles of shoreline, the lake’s crystal clear water makes it a favorite destination for scuba divers, and it is suitable for a wide variety of water-sports. Possum Kingdom Lake is also one of the best fishing lakes in Texas, well-stocked with largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, white bass, striped bass, and sunfish.
